Day 4

Today, we heard a story about a woman who hiked the Pacific Crest Trail, which is a 2600 mile hike and took her about 90 days. We watched a video of her talking about why she decided to hike this trail and how she prepared for it. After learning about how she packed way too much stuff for this expedition, we got in partners. With our partners, we made a list of what we would take for a 10 day hike. After writing this list, we had to add up the weight of all these things. Once we had how much our backpacks would be, we had to put weights in a hiking bag until it was the weight that the things on our list would have weighed. My partner and I's only weighed about 25 pounds, so it wasn't very heavy, especially compared to the woman who walked the PCT, at 70 pounds. Below is the list we had of what we would take on a hike, and the weight of each item.
