Today, we went to the Narrows to kayak all day. Once we got there and started kayaking, I just took a few minutes to listen to the sounds of nature. I heard water from the river running. I heard birds chirping, I heard squirrels running and some sticks snapping. It's amazing what you're able to hear if you just open your ears and listen. Once I was done listening, I started having a lot of fun. There were 2 rope swings that I swung from. The first one, I swung twice and the second one, I swung 4 times and climbed up the rope two times. We also took a few stops to just swim in the river, and even though the water was still pretty cold, I had a ton of fun.
We also wrote poetry about the recipe to make a river. Here's mine:
To make a river it takes 50,000 pounds of rocks, dirt and sand.
It takes 100,000 gallons of water
And thousands of aquatic animals, maybe some insects too.
Some algae will do,
If fish are few
